farm products:

we have sold out of everything that is pre-orderable for 2008, but often have a small surplus of various items which we sell at our farmstand in wendell. we also have an automatic email notification system that informs customers when there is a surplus situation.... so if you want in on that shiitake flush or extra thanksgiving turkey, send us an email to get on the list!

services/consultations:

caveat: the following is a sort of rant, we are not terrorists

as a result of a handfull of massive agribusiness entities being given equally massive subsidies from the gov't , food in the u.s. is outrageously inexpensive and undervalued (even so-called "organic" food has now been coopted by this system) - for this reason, food prices don't reflect their true, total costs - for example, in addition to the farm subsidies, how much does it *really* cost to ship everything in from california, chile, new zealand (the average food item in the state of MA travels 1500 miles to get here, and is owned by 1 of 4 corporations)? how much would it cost for decent non-slave wages to grow, pick, pack your food? what's the pricetag to place on the aesthetic impact of small family farms being bought up and developed into cookie cutter house lots, strip malls, etc.? what is the cost of the environmental impact of artificially supporting hundreds of acres of monoculture, resulting in nitrate runoff in the ground water, herba/pesti/fugi/whatevercide residues on our foods that our bodies can't filter that accumulate, give us cancers, jack up the cost of medical care, etc., etc. ? ... food prices in the store simply don't reflect these and other hidden costs associated with so-called "modern" agriculture.

the bottom line is that the economics of this situation makes it almost impossible to pay all of ones bills by responsibly growing and selling diverse, healthy foods locally, which is exactly what we're trying to do... so... we subsidise the family farm with "city jobs" and/or other services we offer, including:
