mamashöe farm is a very small family-run operation with an infinite amount of things to be done and an infinite amount of things to learn. we're always looking for help from good folks who are interested in the philosophies embodied at mamashöe world headquarters. below is an excerpt from a recent apprentiship advert we published. read it over and if you're interested, get in touch.

1) Types of enterprises and acreage:
25 acres - pigs, goats, chicken, ducks/geese, turkey, orchard, vegetables, mushrooms, aquaculture, bees - emphasis is placed on diversity, low energy inputs, systems integration/symbiosis, organics, biodynamics, permaculture design principles

5) List educational, recreational, and additional farm opportunities:
thousands of acres of conservation land, some of which abutts MSWHQ, so there're oportunities for outdoor activities (boating, hiking, swimming, etc.) - MSWHQ also hosts artist retreats, wendell's 30 min from amherst/northhampton area, 60 or so miles from Boston, near NH, VT, Berkshires - other farms/communities in area for tours

what you can expect:
you will get exposure to and experience with an unusually wide variety of enterprises and skills, including care for the plants and animals outlined on this site, carpentry and building skills (shelters, barns, greenhouses, coldframes), forestry, aquaculture, food and medicine preparation, plant identification/botony, general improvisational problem solving skills, etc. in exchange, you will be expected to work hard, quickly, intelligently, and have fun doing it! entitled rich kids who like the *idea* of sustainable living with no work ethic need not apply.
